Kodak Aerochrome III 1443 was a professional false color infrared film, originally designed for aerial and environmental photography, with its infrared technology tracing back to Kodak’s wartime film development during the 1940s.
Originally produced for technical and specialised use rather than everyday photography, Aerochrome III developed a cult following because of its strange, dreamlike colour response. Foliage could turn bright red or hot pink, skies could become deep and dramatic, and ordinary landscapes could take on an almost alien quality. Though no longer in production, its rare infrared colour palette continues to be one of the most sought after and visually iconic Kodak film aesthetics.
